Personal History

1958	Born in Toyama
1979	Graduated from design dept. ayKyoto Seika Junior College
1980	Completed the major
	Learned wood work from Mr. Akira Murayama while in college
	Joined design department of a cosmetic company in Osaka
1982	Left the company. Resumed learning wood work from Mr. Akira Murayama(～83)
1988	Learned wood work at a technical academy
1989	Established "Isa Wood work Studio" with husband
1993	Put joint exhibitions with husband once or twice a year
	Received Chief of Forestry Agency award at World Wood Craft Exhibition
2001	'06 '08 Selected at Asahi Modern Craft Exhibition
2005	Received Incentive award at Oribe Craft Design Award Exhibition
2009	Selected at Japan Craft Design Exhibition Also selected in the 48th, 50th and 51st exhibitions

Message

I make my works in pursuit of something that you want to keep them at hand. Planning, cutting, shaping, assembling and planing. Finishing work is exciting and I do it with feeling. From furniture to chopsticks, in order to maximize the natural color of wood, I use no stain but plant derived oil.
